D3 Vitamin…The Silver Bullet?

vitamin d3 silver bulletWhat do you think is the most cost-effective and efficient interventions in medicine that would save the most lives and the most money? Inflammation is reduced in your heart, brain, and joints. It protects you from osteoporosis while stopping bone loss diabetes and obesity. Your immune system is strengthened, bacterial and viral infections are stopped in their tracks. It helps prevent several different cancers. Fibromyalgia, depression, and chronic fatigue syndrome are eliminated. With all the buzz recently you surely know what I am speaking of, I’m referring to natural, active D3 vitamin, not synthetic D2.

Vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol) is vital for life. Why are Americans in a state of vitamin D3 deficiency you may ask? Let us ponder human evolutionary biology. For several million years our ancestors lived naked in the sun. Vitamin D3 was readily absorbed through the skin as it was exposed to the sun and humans were largely unprotected. Then some of us migrated north to places with less sun. Then we became civilized started wearing clothes, taking jobs where we work inside all day and living in cities that were populated by large buildings blocking us from the sun.

Cars appeared in instead of walking around and horses and tinted glass blocked even more UVE in the sunlight. Then we were brainwashed sunshine was bad for us and we started covering up even more with clothes, hats, and the dreaded sunscreen. The end result of this reduced sun exposure is the reduction of the most potent steroid hormone  in our bodies, one with powerful anticancer properties.

The really significant reductions in someone exposure have occurred since the Industrial Revolution, just the time the “diseases of civilization”  like cardiovascular disease, diabetes and cancer became prominent.

So what are the end results of the D3 vitamin deficiency? At least 17 varieties of cancer including breast, bladder, colon, lymphoma, ovarian, endometrial, and prostate. Heart disease, high blood pressure, stroke, autoimmune disease, multiple sclerosis, diabetes type I and two, depression, chronic pain, osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, muscle weakness, obesity,  periodontal  disease, infectious disease, and more. Vitamin D3 is a powerful anti-inflammatory and those of us in the anti-aging industry know that reducing inflammation is half the aging battle won!

The research is astonishing! So how much Vitamin D3 do we need per day?

Ask your primary care provider to check your serum vitamin D3/ 25(OH) level. The optimum range is 80 – 100 ng/ml. No toxicity was seen with D3 levels less than 150 ng/ml. The optimum dose of Vitamin D3 is 5000 – 15,000IU per day.  A weekly dose of 50,000 IU D3 is OK. Fewer supplements are needed if you receive more sun exposure. Get the Best Vitamin D3 Supplement!

How the Ingredients in Vitamin D3 Plus Work Together in the Body

Vitamin D Does Not Act Alone in the Body. We All Know It Needs Calcium in Order to Make Our Bones Strong but What Else Does Vitamin D Need to Work Properly? Magnesium-the Numerous Enzymes That Metabolize Vitamin D All Need Magnesium to Work Properly.

Magnesium Deficiencies Are Common, Mainly Because the Foods That Contain Magnesium (Green Vegetables, Nuts, and Whole Grains) Are Not Consumed As Often As They Should Be.

Vitamin K-a Small Number of Very Important Proteins, Called Vitamin K Dependent Proteins, Need Vitamin K to Bind Calcium. Vitamin K Promotes Deposition of Calcium in Bone but Inhibits Its Deposition in Other Organs. While the Mechanism by Which Vitamin K May Promote Mineralization of Bone, While Inhibiting Mineralization (Calcification) of Vessels, Is Not Entirely Clear, It Appears That Vitamin K Is Crucial for This Effect. Like Magnesium, the Best Source of Vitamin K Is Green Leafy Vegetables, Which Many of Us Consume Less Frequently Than We Should.

Zinc-the Vitamin D Receptor (VDR) Sits upon Your Genes like a Glove, Waiting for Vitamin D to Tell Your Genes What to Do. At the Base of the Fingers of the Glove Is a Zinc Molecule. Thus, It Seems Likely That Vitamin D Cannot Function Properly in Those Who Are Zinc Deficient. Zinc Deficiencies May Be Quite Common, Especially for Those Who Eat Little Meat. (One Serving of Six Oysters Contains Eight Times the RDA.)

Boron-While Little Is Known about Boron, Other Than It Is Common in Green Vegetables Fruit and Nuts, a Number of Studies Found Boron to Be Important for the Actions of Vitamin D on the Cell Wall. Studies Show Many Americans Get Little Boron, Again Because Green Vegetables, Fruit, Nuts, and Whole Grains Are Not Consumed As Often As They Should Be.

Vitamin A-Vitamin D Requires Vitamin A to Bind to theVitamin D Receptor. As Most People Have All the Vitamin A They Need, This Product Contains the Same Amount of Vitamin A As One Egg.

Our Goal with All These Five Cofactors Was the Same, to Supply Not All You Need, but Enough to Give Vitamin D a Boost. The Key to Health Remains a Healthy Diet, One Rich in Colorful Vegetables and Fruits, Whole Grains, Meat, Poultry, and Cold-Water Fatty Fish, a Diet That Is Varied, Containing Many Different Foods, and One That Contains Only Occasional “Empty Calories.”

It has come to my attention there has been quite a buzz recently about vitamin D3 all over the Internet . Being the health conscious individual I am, a more in depth look to enlighten myself is in order.

It is quite apparent that many of the major research facilities around the US including Mayo Clinic, Sloan-Kettering, Cleveland Clinic and a laundry list of about 20 + major research facilities across the USA , are conducting in-depth clinical studies on particular diseases , in older adults especially. One study group thatwere at had few risk factor for vitamin D deficiency, 57% were found to have below normal levels of vitamin D. 67% reporting a vitamin D intake below the RDI had low levels rated as moderate or severe.

With so many clinical studies being conducted it appears we all need to make sure we have adequate levels of Vitamin D3. Personally, my family hopped on the bandwagon when these studies began surfacing. It just makes logical sense. We chose to use the same D3 used in most of the studies as it is top shelf when it comes to strength and purity. In fact it also contains all the necessary components to get the most of the D3, Vitamin D3 Plus as it is called, is an American made product maintaining the highest of standards and purity on the market. I suggest you do the same! We have all noticed a distinct difference in energy levels and clarity mentally as we are coming into Spring and no one has experienced colds, flu nor have we had pollen allergy issues as everything has been blooming like crazy. First Spring in many years we were not all miserable with runny noses and sneezing. Whether the D3 Plus was a factor or not I cannot say for sure but that has been the only change this year. I can assure you though we will continue consumption of D3, in a moderate manner of course. More is not always better! But for the low cost of prevention it is worth making sure you have adequate levels year round!
